Some useful tips for getting around Riga

From Riga International Airport

By bus (22)

Bus 22 goes from the Airport to Abrenes street. The bus stop at the airport for the city center is between Exit E and Exit C at the arrival floor in the car park.

To go to the city center without transfer, you can get off from the bus at Autoosta bus stop. The walking distance from Autoosta stop to the Conference venue is 15 minutes.

To go to the Conference venue directly, you can transfer

  • To bus 3 at Nacionālā bibliotēka (the National Library) stop, and get off from bus 3 at Brīvibas bulvāris (Freedom boulevard) stop, which is 500 meters from the Conference venue.
  • To bus 53 at Melnsila iela (Melnsila street) stop, and get off from bus 53 at Esplanāde stop, which is 200 meters from the Conference venue.

You can also use the following route planner sites to plan your trip as well as popular navigation applications, such as Google Maps.

Time tickets are valid for 90 minutes. You can transfer to another public transport operated by Rīgas Satiksme and register the ticket within 90 minutes. Ticket for public transportation can be purchased:

  • from vending machines or Narvesen kiosks in the airport,
  • from the bus driver (only by card and only for bus 22),
  • via mobile applications (code ticket).

At the airport

By taxi

A taxi ride to the hotel takes approximately 20 minutes, depending on the traffic.

In addition to the airport taxis, a taxi can be called via mobile applications. One of the popular mobile applications is Bolt. There is a designated area to pick-up passengers for Bolt taxis in the Airport at the Arrival floor in the parking lot.

From Railway Station and Central Bus Station

On foot

The hotel is just 1.1 km away from the Railway Station and 1.3 km away from the Central Bus Station.

By bus

Take bus route number 16 and exit at Tērbatas Street. Walk 260 meters through Brīvības Boulevard and turn left onto Elizabetes Street.

By taxi

A taxi ride to the hotel takes about 15-18 minutes, depending on the traffic.

Transportation in Riga

By public transport (bus, tram, trolleybus)

For short term travels in Riga, Yellow e-ticket and Code ticket can be used.

  • Yellow e-ticket is a cardboard ticket with an RFID chip. It can be purchased from vending machines, Narvesan kiosks, Latvia Post offices, Rīgas satiksme offices and many other stores.
  • Code ticket is a ticket that can be purchased via mobile app and used by scanning QR codes in public transportation.
